Broughton Ravers v Scotter Junior Sharks (home) 17/09/2011 KO 10am
Broughton Ravers’s second game of the season, and first home game brought another positive result, with Broughton Ravers running out winners 5-2. In the first half of the game,Broughton pressed the Scotter goal with several opportunities going a miss. With Broughton playing very well, the break through eventually came through Jack Porter, drilling in a low, hard shot from the edge of the Scotter penalty box. With Broughton going 1-0 up, this brought more confidence into the team. After having more chances to score,Scotter levelled the score on the counter attack, with a low shot that caught Bailey Clark out. By half time, Broughton were ahead 3-1, with Declan ‘ the goal machine’ Travis netting twice.
As the second half got under way, Pacey Whitaker and Jack Mclnnes came into the team, replacing Adam Crowther and William Lamming respectively.Broughton again dominated the second half, with Kian Wright and William Lamming weighing in with one goal a piece.Special mention must go to Kian Wright, with him scoring his first ever Broughton goal. Only slight blemish on the second half, was a Scotter shot that deflected off Declan Southern, which ended up in our net, with Bailey Clark having no chance.
Overall, another great team performance, where the team is working together and playing as a team in all departments.Second win of the season, and where the new recruits Declan Southern and William Lamming have settled in,making us a stronger overall team, makes good reading for the rest of the season.
Man of the Match went to Bailey Clark, with only his second ever game in goal for Broughton,he looked confident and dealt with everything very well, with his kicking being at the top of his game.
Overall scorers were Declan Travis 2,William Lamming 1,Kian Wright 1,Jack Porter 1.
Team – Bailey Clark,Kian Wright,Adam Crowther,Jack Porter,William Lamming,Declan Southern,Declan Travis,subs Pacey Whitaker,Jack McInnes.

Westcliff Lions v Broughton Ravers (away) 24/09/2011 11am KO
Broughton Ravers 3rd game of the season saw Ravers come up against Westcliff Lions, 2nd v 3rd in the league at this early stage of the season.Having played Westcliff in a pre-season friendly and lost 4-3, the team knew this game was going to be a hard test, and that our 100% record could be under threat. With this possibly being one of our toughest games to play this season, we started the game without Pacey Whitaker and William Lamming due to them having other commitments.
On a warm sunny morning, the heat was going to be a factor in the latter stages of the match. At the start of the game,Broughton found the pitch hard going as the grass was long in places and very bobbly.Westcliff started the strongest, with them having some early chances, but due to the efforts of Kian Wright and Adam Crowther, the team managed to keep them out. After around 10mins played,Westcliff took the lead with a scrappy goal that Bailey Clark struggled to clear.Once they had scored,Broughton came to life, with every playing putting 100% effort in.Approaching half time,Broughton created several chances due to some good passing from Porter,Southern and Simms, where Travis was unlucky not to convert the chances.Broughton eventually created a golden chance with Southern putting in a great ball from the left, where Travis controlled the ball, used his skills and drilled the ball into the roof of the net, another great finish from the ‘goal machine’ Travis. Half time came around with the score level at 1-1.
At the start of the second half, Adam Simms was taken off and replaced with Jack Mcinnes. Broughton started the second half the strongest, with Adam Crowther controlling the defence with some magnificent clearences. Broughton should have taken the lead when Travis was clean through on goal, only to hit a hard shot straight at Westcliff’s goalkeeper. Broughton again created another chance, only for the Westcliff goalkeeper to pull off a great save. With time running down,Porter was taken off and replaced by Adam Simms, due to Porter becoming de-hydrated due to his 110% efforts once again. With only around 5 mins left,a Wescliff striker found himself through on goal, with Crowther tracking back after him.Once the striker had made it into the penalty box,Crowther produced a stunning slide tackle to knock the ball away and into safety. The tackle reminded me of ‘ John Terry’ at his best, and was clearly a match saving tackle. The reff then blew up for full time, with Broughton drawing 1-1. Once again this season,Broughton produced a ‘never say die attitute’ and thoroughly deserved a well earned point. If Broughton continue to play like they did in this game,i’m sure they will stay in the upper half of the league, again well done to every single player.Special mention goes to Kian Wright and Adam Crowther for defending like true heroes, and Jack Porter for having another great game in his new position in centre of midfield.
Man of the match goes to Adam Crowther, for is defending qualities being top draw, and deserves a pat on the back for that brilliant match saving tackle.
Team – Bailey Clark,Adam Crowther,Kian Wright,Jack Porter,Declan Southern,Adam Simms,Declan Travis. Subs – Jack McInnes.

Broughton Ravers v App Frod Colts (home) 08/10/2011 ko 10am
On a cold October morning,Broughton Ravers came up against App Frod Colts at home, and it proved to be a tough old game for all the boys. The game started very slowly for Broughton, with App Frod taking an early lead from a well worked corner by the App Frod lads.It took Broughton a while to get into the swing of the pace of the game,as App Frod’s players were first to every loose ball in the first half.It didn’t take App Frod long to increase their lead to 2-o, through a shot that Bailey Clark struggled to get hold of,where it trickled over the goal line, and even though Clark tried his best to claw out the ball, the goal was given as it had crossed the line.App Frod closed the first half, with a third goal. With App Frod leading 3-0,Broughton only had one shot on target in the first half, where Broughton I thought were out played.
After a half-time team talk to encourage the players to battle and try and win the loose balls,Broughton started the second half alot better, with all the lads trying there hardest to claw some goals back.Half time subs saw Adam Simms coming off for Jack McInnes, and Pacey Whitaker replacing Adam Crowther in the heart of the defence.Unfortunatly,App Frod increased their lead to 4-0 with a well worked goal from another dangerous corner.Once they had scored that goal,it seemed to give the Broughton lads a lift, where for 10 minutes,I felt that they were the better team.Reward for their efforts saw a good move between William Lamming and Declan Travis, which ended up with Travis continuing his run of scoring in every match this season so far,by putting the ball in the back of the net with a class finish with his left foot.Once that goal had been scored,it didn’t seem to encourage Broughton to continue playing there good football. In the end App Frod piled on the agony for the lads,by scoring a further 3 goals, with the end result finishing in a 7-1 loss. This ended Broughton’s unbeaten run which saw them losing for the first time this season.I feel that App Frod were a very good team, which was organised to hurt us in most departments.Hopefully Broughton will put this performance to the back of there mind, and bounce back with a good performance next time out.Roll on next Saturday, where the lads will hopefully get the chance to shine once again.
Man of the match went to William Lamming, due to William trying 100% all the time he was on the pitch. He was unlucky on a couple of occasions not to get his name on the score sheet, where the App Frod keeper did well to keep out his shots.
Team – Bailey Clark,Adam Crowther,Kian Wright,Adam Simms,Jack Porter,Declan Southern,Declan Travis. Subs – Jack McInnes,Pacey Whitaker,William Lamming.

Barton United Lions v Broughton Ravers (away) 15/10/2011 10am KO
Broughton Ravers started the game with a fully fit squad to pick from.On a bright sunny morning,Barton started the strongest of the two team, where Broughton struggled to get use to the pace of the game.In the opening few minutes,Barton piled on the pressure on us, creating several chances which led to some good defending and some good saves made by Bailey Clark. The break through came through Barton, where their striker collected a ball in their half, played a good one two and hit it low into the net.Straight from the kick off, Broughton started to play the football they had been playing in the opening games of the season, and quickly levelled with a good strike from Declan Travis, who hit a strike that went under the body of the Barton goalkeeper.Once Broughton scored, they struggled to take advantage of all the play.Barton went onto to score two goals before halftime, with them leading 3-1 at half time.
At the start of the second half,Broughton made two changes, bringing on Pacey Whitaker and Adam Crowther, and Kian Wright and Adam Simms had way for them.In the firts part of the second half,Barton played some good football with their players creating several chances through some good passing moves. It wasn’t long before they extended their lead to 4-1 with a well taken header from a corner that went low into the right hand bottom corner, with Bailey Clark having no chance.Barton went onto dominate the game with them adding two further goals,to make the score line 6-1.It wan’t until the last 5 minutes of the game, Broughton started to play good football, where they were unlucky not to score through Travis and Simms. The final score ended 6-1 in a loss to Broughton. This was Broughton second defeat of the season, lets just hope that all the hard work in the opening matches is not undone.
Man of the match went to Bailey Clark for some very good saves that he pulled off.As games go by,Bailey is starting to become a solid golakeeper between the sticks.
Team – Bailey Clark,Jack Porter,Kian Wright,William Lamming,Adam Simms,Declan Southern,Declan Travis.Subs – Jack McInnes,Pacey Whitaker,Adam Crowther.

Broughton Ravers v Scottor Junior Jets (home) cup match 22/10/2011 10am ko
Broughton played Scottor in a re-arranged cup match.Broughton went into the game having lost the last two matches, and were aiming to try and amend themselves in this match, which Broughton knew would not be easy, even thought they had home advantage. At the start of the game,Broughton started by throwing the kitchen sink at the Scottor goal, with them having numerous chances, with the Scottor goalkeeper pulling off some brilliant saves,to keep it at 0-0.It wasn’t long though before Broughton took the lead through Declan Travis, with a good ball pleyed through by William Lamming, for Travis to run onto and slot the ball in from close range.Broughton continued to attack, which eventually paid off with Broughton taking a 2-0 lead, with another goal by Travis, who has scored in every game this season.Just before half time,Broughton made a mess in defence and left one of the Scottor players to run through and score, making it 2-1 at half time.
At the start nof teh second half,Adam Crowther and Jack MInnes came on,replacing Pacey Whitaker and Declan Southern respectively.No-one could see what a game this would turn into.Scottor drew level very quickly into the half, with a low shot that Clark struggled to save. This spurred Broughton on to attacking the Scottor goal, which resulted in Tavis scoring his hatrick, running onto a through ball by Jack Porter,to slot in another goal to his impressive season tally. The following 20 minutes made the game into a cat and mouse episode. It wasn’t long before Broughton got caught out ball watching, with Scottor once again levelling the scores.Scottor got inspiration through this, and they took the lead with a well taking goal. Then believe it or not,Broughton went up the other end and scored once again with Travis taking the honours.I thought that that would be that and the game would go to a reply. But Scottor chanced a long shot, which I though Clark had saved, but due to the power of the shot,he struggled to hold onto it and it ended up trickling into the net,to make it 5-4.With only five minutes remaining,Broughton started to throw everything forward, and had a couple of golden chances to score but failed. With only minutes remaining,Lamming dribbled the ball through the midfield, and played a delightful ball through for Travis to run onto, and be went onto net for the 5th time, yes 5th,which made it 5-5.And that is how it ended,so the game will have to be replayed at Scottor’s ground.Broughton’s never say die attitude pulled them through this game, and many more games like this,I think I might end up with grey hair.Well done to all the boys.
Man of the Match went to Pacey Whitaker.Pacey had a really good game, defensively and attacking. His overall effort was outstanding, and shone above everyone else that played.Well done.
Team – Bailey Clark,Jack Porter,Pacey Whitaker,William Lamming,Adam Simms,Declan Southern,Declan Travis,subs – Adam Crowther,Jack McInnes.

05/11/2011 Broughton Ravers v Scotter Junior Jets (home league) 10 am ko
Broughton Ravers came up against Scotter Junior Jets in the league this time,on Bonfire night, where we were all hoping that there would be fireworks on the pitch, and I can safely say, there was!!! Broughton started slow, where after 5 minutes,Scotter took the lead with a well taken low shot from around 10 yards out. This seemed to shake Broughton up,and wasn’t very long before Broughton drew level, with a goal coming through Declan ‘goal machine’ Travis, where he continued his rich vain of form.By half time,Broughton had taken the lead via two further goals from Travis, who completed his third league hatrick this season.Broughton led 3-1 at half time.
Three changes were made at half time, with Whitaker,Crowther and McInnes all coming onto replace Simms,Southern and Wright respectively.Broughton started the second half very strongly, with attempts made by Travis and Lamming being saved well by the Scotter goalkeeper.Broughton pushed on hard, and reeped rewards for thier efforts with a stunning goal scored by Travis, where he curled a subline finish into the top right hand corner from around 15 yards out, great goal.Within moments Scotter clawed themselves back into it with 2 quick goals, with Clark having no chance in the Broughton goal. The home side then again rolled their sleeves up,and went onto score their 5th goal via Lamming who drove the ball in from around 10 yards, after a great through ball played in through Southern,a good alround goal. With the last 7 minutes remaining,Broughton continued to work hard, where Travis went onto complete a 7 goal scoring spree with 2 quick fire goals, with the last goal being scored on the stroke of full time.Again well done to all the boys, who all played their part in a magnificent result, which fires further up the league.
Man of the match was awarded to Declan Travis for his 7 goal match.Declan was un playable at some points and really punished the Scotter defence with his skills.Well done to Declan, but must emphasize that the whole team played their part.
Team – Bailey Clark,Adam Simms,Kian Wright,Jack Porter,Declan Southern,William Lamming,Declan Travis. Subs – Adam Crowther,Pacey Whitaker,Jack McInnes.

12/11/2011 Kirton Rangers v Broughton Ravers (away) 11:30 am ko
This later kick off brought us to play Kirton Rangers,in what proved to be a very toughly fought match. As the game kicked off,it was around 30 seconds into the match where Broughton had there very first attack of the match, where the ended up scoring through Declan Travis, with a shot that trickled into the net from close range. With only seconds gone, taking the lead proved to be a negative towards the players, where Broughton struggled to get into the game,as Kirton started to pile pressure on to the Broughton net, with Bailey Clark playing at the top of his game to keep out Kirton. An early substitution was forced upon us, with Jack Porter being replaced by Pacy Whitaker, due to Porter having run himself into the ground early on.Broughton found it hard to get into a playing pattern, and due to this cost Broughton a goal.Kirton produced a counter attack, and the Broughton defence struggled to keep out a low shot by a Kirton Striker. The firts half finished 1 – 1.
At the start of the second half, changes were made with Crowther,Porter and McInnes coming onto play.Kirton started the stronger of the two in the 2nd half, with them creating several changes, where Clark had to excell in goal, with him producing a tremendous save by tipping the ball over the crossbar.Kirton continued to press on,and eventually their pressure paid off for them, with them taking a shock lead. This seamed to spur the Broughton players into life, where they started to battle very hard to get back into the match.A great ball through by Lamming gave Travis a chance at goal, and when through on goal,he was caught by a Kirton player, which should of gave Broughton a penalty. But instead, the ref played on,but Travis hit the ball straight at the Kirton goalkeeper instead of hitting the net.A penalty should have been given, but this brought more determination into the Broughton play to draw level. With only minutes left,Broughton seemed to be running out of time to gain a point. But with a bit of magic from Travis, brought a leveller for Broughton, which they richly deserved, where the final result finished 2 – 2,and a share of the spoils.
Man of the Match went to Adam Simms.Adam worked tirelessly all match and never gave up.In the second half,Simms was pushed into the midfield, where he pushed hard, which helped gain the leveller for Broughton.
Team – Bailey Clark,Kian Wright,Adam Simms,Jack Porter,Declan Southern,William Lamming,Declan Travis.Subs – Jack McInnes,Adam Crowther,Pacey Whitaker.

Broughton Ravers went into this game having had a good win the previous week, and were full of confidence. The game was in doubt due to the heavy frost that had fallen, but after a discussion with players etc,the game went ahead as scheduled.Broughton started brightly, with Travis and Lamming peppering the Crosby goal with several efforts which were kept out by the Crosby goalkeeper. The deadlock was broken after 5 minutes, with Travis and Lamming linking up well, with Travis shooting a low shot into the right bottom corner.Broughton continued to pile pressure on Crosby, with Travis eventually adding a second, with a good assist from Simms, with a low cross from the right, which was turned in by Travis. With the first half drawing to a close,Lamming added a third goal with a well taken goal, shooting in from the edge of the box.Half time score was 3-0.

17/12/2012 Broughton Ravers v Park Tigers at home 10am ko
Broughton Ravers went into this match unbeaten in 7 games, but the lads knew that this was going to be a tough game,as Park Tigers had been getting some good results recently.Broughton didnt start the game too well,as they gave Park Tigers too much respect. On the first attack,Tigers took the lead with a well taken goal, shooting hard a low into the right hand corner of the net, past Clark. It wasn’t long before Tigers scored a further two goals, with Clark well beaten on both shots. It wasn’t until Broughton went 3-0 down, they started to play, and just before half time Broughton had a great chance to score through Travis, but when through on goal,he dragged his shot frustratingly wide.HT 3-0 to the Tigers.
At the start of the second half, two changes were made, with Southern and Wright making way for McInnes and Crowther. With 5 minutes of the second half played,Broughton scored through Simms. It was a great team goal, with some good passing between Simms,Lamming and Travis created a chance for Simms, who smashed the ball into the net from close range. With Broughton having the momentum,I thought they would go on and score again, but they were again pegged back by the Tigers who increased there lead to 5-1,with a further two goals in quick time, with both coming from being caught out defensively. With only 10 minutes left of the game,McInnes scored from inside the box, with much delight to the home supporting parents.Broughton then raised there game, where they had further attempts at the Tigers goal, but unfortunatly could not add to the score, with the final result being Broughton 2 Tigers 5,where Broughton lost there 7 match unbeaten run.

07/01/2012 Broughton Ravers v Brigg United Colts at Home 10am ko
This was Broughton’s first game in 2012,where it was the local derby against Brigg, where both sets of players knew each other very well due to school.Broughton started the game in a fast tempo, and in the first 10 minutes of the 1st half, they had several attempts on the Brigg net,but the Brigg goalkeeper pulled off some cracking saves. After peppering the Brigg goal,Broughton eventually got there reward for there efforts, with Travis scoring from the edge of the box with a low driven left foot shot,in the bottom left corner. The goal machine Travis soon made it 2-0 with a tap in after a deflected shot from Lamming was saved.5 minutes of the half remained when Travis completed his hatrick, when a corner from Lamming was met by Travis who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.Ht 3-0 to Broughton.
Broughton started the 2nd half very slowly, with Brigg scoring from close range, due to a mistake by Clark, who didnt hold onto a shot.Broughton soon got back into their stride, with them scoring their 4th goal, but this time it was scored by a Brigg player,an own goal, where a corner had been hit in by Lamming towards the back post, and with the Brigg player being under pressure from Simms, hit it into his own net.Broughton them controlled the rest of the match, with Lamming scoring from a well worked team goal.Lamming was put through by Southern, who dribbled the ball to the edge of the Brigg box, where he shot into the middle of the net, ending the match with Broughton getting one over on the loacl rivals 5-1.

21/02/2012 Broughton Ravers v App Frod Colts at home (cup) 10am ko
Broughton knew that playing App Frod Colts in the Quater Final of the cup was going to prove to be a tough game for the lads. Broughton started well on a very cold morning. In the first 5 minutes,Broughton had two good chances to take the lead, through Travis and Lamming, but both shots were saved well by the App Frod keeper. After 15 minutes played,App Frod caught us on the counter attack and took the lead against the run of play with a tap from around 10 foot out.Broughton rallied around and eventually levelled the match with a well taken goal coming from Declan ‘goal machine’ Travis, who took the ball on, dribbled the ball 30 foot then once in the penalty box,he hit a low shot into the centre of the goal, leaving the keeper with no chance.Just before half time Broughton conceeded a 2nd goal, when a broughton defender made a mistake not clearing it, and were punished by the app frod striker.Half time score,Broughton 1 App Frod 2.
At the start of the second half,Southern replaced Crowther, on the left hand side. Broughton started the 2nd half very well, but could not turn the possession into goals, and were caught out by a 3rd App Frod goal, which Broughton did not deserve,as they were working their socks off to trya nd get back into the game.In the final 10 minutes,Broughton came to life further, with them having several chances through Porter,Travis and McInnes, but could not turn the chances into further goals.Eventually App Frod killed the game off with a 4th,which in the end deflated Broughton. The final score was Broughton Ravers 1 App Frod 4.Even though they lost by that score line, every Broughton Player played very well, and I didn’t think they deserved to lose by 3 clear goals.
Man of the Match went to Adam Simms due to his determination during the full match, well done.

28/01/2012 Broughton Ravers v Westcliff Casuals at home 10am ko
Broughton Ravers started the day above Westcliff in the league table, but after drawing with them earlier on in the season, they knew that it was going to be a hard game.Broughton started the game very brightly, with some early chances through Declan Travis,William Lamming and Jack Porter, with there shots at goal being well saved by the Westcliff goalkeeper. With Broughton supplying all the pressure,Westcliff had one attack and scored, with a scrappy goal that trickled past Bailey Clark in the net.So against the run of play,Broughton found themselves behind, and after a frustrating period,Broughton drew level through Declan Travis, with a well taken team goal, which involved several key passes before Travis drilled the ball home.Just before half time Broughton took the lead, with Travis scoring his 2nd,where he was put through by Lamming, and after travelling with the ball from near the half way line,Travis slotted the ball in from close range.Ht Broughton 2 Wescliff 1
At the start of the second half,Southern, and Kian Wright made way for Adam Crowther and Pacey Whitaker. It wasn’t long before Broughton increased there lead with their 3rd goal, well taken by William Lamming with a well hit right footed shot from just inside the penalty box, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.Westcliff then started to come back into the game, and after a midfield battle, around 10 minutes into the 2nd half,Westcliff pulled a goal back, making it 3-2,which made Broughton nervous.Broughton then had a great chance to finish off the game, when Lamming was put through on goal, with Lamming smashing the ball straight at the Westcliff goalkeeper, where it rebounded off the keeper and into the net. That goal settled the Broughton nerves, after a further few chances created by each side, which didnt result in any further goals, the full time whistle went, with Broughton recording a great result, which I believe was the best result so far since the season started.

18/02/2012 Scotter Junior Sharks v Broughton Ravers (away) 11am ko
Broughton went into this game, without having played for around 4 weeks due to the recent bad weather we have had.Talking of bad weather, the game was played in pouring rain and wind.Even though the weather was awful,Broughton started very well, with Travis and Lamming creating two great chances to score but there shots were well saved by the scotter keeper. With Bailey Clark having hardly nothing to do in the Broughton net,Broughton had all the play in the first half, and eventually took their chance through Travis. It was a well worked goal, which involved Dec Southern,Dec Travis,Jack Porter and William Lamming. After some good passing, the ball was well finished by Travis, with a low left foot shot into the bottom right hand corner.Travis added a second not long after his first, with him driving in a shot from the edge of the box.It could well have been more than 2-0 by half time,as Broughton had several other great chances to improve their lead, but the Scotter keeper kept the score down to 2-0 at half time.
Witha quick turn around, due to the kids becoming very cold, and the rain coming down even faster,Subs were made, with Kian Wright and Declan Travis making way for Adam Crowther and Pacey Whitaker respectively.Broughton continued to play well, with William Lamming and Adam Simms winning the battles in midfield and defence, with Jack Porter also battling hard to win the ball in midfield. With Declan Travis off the field,Lamming was pushed up front, and wasn’t too long until he scored the third goal, with a break away goal, where he finished well under the pressure of a scotter defender. All in all,Scotter were kept at bay by the well marshalled defence, which Adam Simms played out of his skin. The game finished 3-0 to Broughton, and at the finish all the Broughton players looked like drowned rats, but well deserved their win. Man of the match went to Jack Porter,as he gave 100% for the full match and never gave up,fighting for most balls in midfield and also made some driving runs from deep in his own half, well done to one and all.
Team – Bailey Clark,Kian Wright,Adam Simms,Jack Porter,Declan Southern,William Lamming,Declan Travis,subs Jack McInnes,Pacey Whitaker,Adam Crowther.

Broughton Ravers started the game very well, creating a couple of chances through Declan Travis and Jack Porter.Declan Travis was put through with a golden chance to score, but his low right footed shot was well saved by the Barton keeper.Porter’s chance was created due to William Lamming’s shot being well saved ,and when the ball came out,Porter drilled his shot straight at the crossbar and to safety, luckily for Barton.Broughton soon created another chance, where Porter made amends for missing the earlier chance, where after a goal mouth scramble,Porter drilled the ball into the centre of the net,1-0 to Broughton.Unfortunatly,Broughton took the gas off the pedal, and Barton soon equalised within 2 minutes of the re-start.A Barton striker wasn’t picked up when the Broughton defence got caught ball watching, which left the striker through on goal on his own, where he placed the ball past Clark to make it 1-1.Then after a further mad 5 minutes,Broughton found themselves 3-1 down, due to two very quick goals. That’s how it stayed until half time, with Broughton left a mountain to climb in the 2nd half.
Several changes were made at half time, with Jack McInnes,Declan Southern and Pacey Whitaker replacing Adam Crowther,Adam Simms and Jack Porter.Broughton started the better, with shots from Declan Travis and William Lamming going wide of goal.Within 10 minutes,Barton extended their lead to 4-1,when the Barton striker tapped in from close range.Broughton pulled a goal back, when William Lamming finished well with a well struck shot finding the roof of the Barton net.Broughton then tried really hard to get back into it,but just couldn’t finish with any futher goals.Barton got a very late 5th goal to finish 5-2 winners.I felt that the score flattered Barton as I feel that Broughton did not deserve to loose that heavily. Man of the Match went to William Lamming, due to his well taken goal, and his efforts of never giving up,well done to the whole team.

03/03/2012 Scotter Juniors Jets v Broughton Ravers (away) 11am ko
Broughton Ravers once again played at Scotter when it decided to rain. The weather was not the best for the lads to play in but by the end they had tried there best even though everyone was wet through.Scotter started the strongest of the two teams and had several early chances to score, which they didnt take. After around 10 minutes played,Broughton started to get to grips with the conditions with Lamming and Travis creating some chances but there long shots came to no avail.Scotter eventually got there noses in front with a well taken goal with a low left foot shot into the bootom left hand corner giving Bailey Clark no chance. It wasnt long before Scotter doubled their lead with a tap in at the far post which came from a mistake by Wright who had got caught out playing the ball accross his goal.Ht time was Scotter 2 Broughton 0
With Broughton Ravers going into the second half 2-0 down, they had to start the 2nd half well to try and get back into the game.Broughton started like a steam train with them creating chances through Southern,Travis and Lamming.Travis finally gave us some hope with another goal to add to his long list this season. Travis was put through on goal where he finished very well into the bottom corner.Even though Broughton threw everything forward to try and get a draw,Scotter scored a further 3rd goal to seal the win 3-1.All the lads, even though they lost deserve a pat on the back due to them having to play in awful conditions.Man of the match went to Declan Travis for his continued endevour throughout the match, well done.
