Broughton Ravers U11 1 v Scotter Juniors 4.
Scorers: Toby Skelton.
Broughton have not had a game for a couple of weeks and they looked very rusty, in a very poor first half Scotter dominated throughout. Scotter scored after a poor defensive effort to clear the ball, soon after yet another defensive mistake, the ball dropped in the six yard box after Tristan Lawrence palmed the ball and all Ravers players stood and watched whilst a Scotter player ran in from 10 yards to tap the ball home. This shook Ravers and not unexpectedly Scotter scored another 2 goals in quick succession, one well taken goal and one mix up. H-T 0-4.
The second half began brightly for the Ravers who were putting a lot more effort into their game than in the first half, Ben Lingard had a free kick well saved by the Scotter keeper, but if Ravers had followed up they would have had a simple tap in. Scotter did have their chances and Tristan Lawrence made three good saves to give some hope to the Ravers. In one attack Toby Skelton added to that hope, with the ball being crossed form the right it fell to Toby who rifled a fierce left foot shot into the roof of the net. This spurred the Ravers on andthey put lots of effort into the last ten minutes but were unable to make any more headway. The team can take heart from the second half performance and look to give the same commitment in their last 2 games.

Scorer: TJ Travis
For Ravers to get anything from this game they would have to play at their very best, Tigers have not been beaten this season!! The start of the game was all the Tigers, ,they dominated for the entire first half beating Broughton at their own game …..winning tackles and pressurising the ball!!!!! In 20 very poor first half mins the Ravers conceded 3 goals, each one as bad as the previous one, it was probably the worst first half performance of the season, 3-0 at half time.
The coaches gave the squad a piece of their minds during the half time team talk and this seemed to work, the work rate was stepped up, the tackling better and the Ravers snatched the initiave back from the Tigers. A number of scoring opportunities were wasted, the Ravers would need to take each chance if they were to get anything from this game but the signs were looking promising. TJ Travis fired home on 45 mins to give a glimmer of hope. Tigers were starting to panic a little and struggling to hold on, again Ravers missed 2 chances on goal, would they get another? The game started to drop off a little withbothsides feeling the pace, Charlie Norton was pushed up front to try get another goal which would really turn the screw on the Tigers, but on one of their rare attacks the Tigers played around the defence and scored their fourthgoal thus finishing off the resurgent Ravers. A lesson learned for the Ravers, play the game from the first whistle to the last!!!! One special mention, Olly H had possibly the best second half of his Ravers career, excellent work-rate, tackling and ball control.
MOM: Olly Hodson
Barton Juniors 2 v Broughton Ravers 12
Scorers: Ben Lingard 3, TJ Travis 3, Jack Holmes 2, Olly cross, Matty Ingham, Olly Hodson, Ryan Lidget.
Broughton started slowly and were made to pay after 5 mins when Barton scored their first goal, poor defending and missed tackles contributed tothe score. This seemed to shock the Ravers into action and Ben Lingard equalised 3 minutes later with a well taken strike from the edge of the box. It was Bartons turn to wake up and they restored their lead on 11 mins when they played the ball therough the Ravers defense and the home striker drilled the ball past Tristan in the Ravers goal. It seemed it was going to be a game of ebb and flow and this proved the case when TJ Travis equalised yet again on 18 mins when he pounced on a loose ball played out mof the Barton penalty area 2-2. Three Broughtongoals in 6 minutes put the game beyond doubt, with Ben completing a first half hatrick, and Olly Hodson chipping in with a well taken goal. HT 2-5.
With the windat their backs in the second half Broughton continued to score goals at will, Matty Ingham finished well on 38 mins, TJ also scored a couple, one a cracking shot from the edge of the box to complete his hatrick. Jack Holmes came on to play up front, an unfamiliar position for him and scored twice, Ryan Lidget & Olly Cross helped themselves to one goal apeice. Barton had no answer to Broughtons prowess in front of goal and this was made worse when they lost a player through injury and had no subs. All in all a satisfactory game for Broughton, some good interplay and a solid tackling (eventually) brought them the victory.
MOM: Charlie Norton.
Broughton Ravers u11 2 v App Frod Saints 1
Scorers: T J Travis & Charlie Norton
The first game of 2012 proved to be not one of Broughton’s better performances. The Ravers started slugishly and the Saints, who were kicking with the wind, were in command of the game. Saints were winning every tackle, every 50 50 ball and stroking the ball aboout, they had most of the chances in the first half . The Ravers were being beaten in every area of the the game but the saints could not take there chances. The one bright spot for the Ravers was the performance of Adam Rutter in the back four positioning himself to make tackles and concentrating on his game. The saints had a number of chances to take the lead, but a mixture of poor finishing, last ditch tackles and on a couple of occasions good saves from Tristan Lawrence, one in particular when he came of his line to dive bravely at the feet of the onrushing attacker. As the half progressed the Ravers came into the game more and may have scored themselves when, after good work from Ryan Lidget & BenLingard Matty Ingham fired over from a tight angle. H-T 0-0.
The second half began much as the first had with the Saints in the ascendancy, and it has to be said they deservedly took the lead. The ball was played through the middle and no one took the initiative and closed the ball down the attacker drove through with the ball and fired a shot across Tristan. This seemed to wake the Ravers up, they had opportunities to even the scores, a couple of shots which were off target and 2 corners which were cleared with some difficulty. Broughton did eventually get the ball into the net, good play from Cameron Gillett down the right hand side, he pushed down the touchline and got a deflection which resulted in a corner, Ben swung the ball in and hit the post, the ball evaded 2 ravers player but fell to T J Travis who bundled the ball over the line, not pretty but the Ravers will take a goal from wherever it will come. As the half progressed it was nip and tuck between the teams, Ravers seemed to be coming more into the game but just could not score. Their main threat seemed to come from corners, Ben hit the crossbar with one and the far post with another, but the game seemed destined to end in a draw. As the Ravers went to 3 men up front with Toby Skelton coming on for T J Travis they gained yet another corner, Ben chipped the ball in from the right and Charlie came steaming in and got a firm header in which came off a defender and into the net 2-1 the Ravers. The final couple of minutes were hectic but Broughton held out for a win, they have played better and lost but a win is a win, App frod will rue missed opportunities.

Scotter Juniors u11 2 v Broughton Ravers u11 4
Scorers: Ryan Lidget, Ben Lingard, T J Travis, Matty Ingham.
On a bitterly cold day in Scotter, the 2 mid table teams always have enthralling games……. and this was no different. The Ravers had a dream start when they scored an early goal. The ball came down the left hand side with Olly Hodson who played the ball down the wing to Matty Ingham who played the ball back across the box, Ryan Lidget took one touch and placed the ball in the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty box 0-1 to the Ravers. Unfortunately the lead did not last long Scotter played some neat football into the Ravers penalty box, the defence was guilty of ball watching andnotmakingtackles, the ball was slipped into the bottom corner. 1-1. As the half progressed both sides hd chances of scoring and Tristan Lawrence made a couple of useful save to keep his team in touch, the Ravers were next to score Ryan strode into midfield witht the ball at his feet, played the ball off to Matty Ingham who was tackled and the ball went out for a throw in, the ball was thrown in by TJ Travis and onto Ben Lingard who took on 2 defenders and slotted the ball home 1-2. As the half time approached Broughton were under a lot of pressure down their left hand side, Jack Holmes trying his hardest against a much bigger opponent but he stuck to his task and when he was passed Adam Rutter was there to clear up for him, h-t 1-2.
The second half started with Broughton having the upper hand when they were in the Scotter half they worked hard and always looked as though they may score, Hannah Davies had come on as a sub for Jack and her tackling skill were called on time and again the goal came as Ryan carried the ball into the Scotter half the ball was played out to the right to Cameronwho was tackled but managed to get a foot in and the ball went into the Scotter box Ben played the ball into TJ who managed to lob the keeper from 10 yards. 1-3. The game became a real battle with the weather taking its toll onthe players but to their credit they kept battling and again a goal came Ben carried the ball into the right hand side of the penalty box and chipped the ball over the on rushing defenders to an unmarked Matty who headed the ball into an empty net. Toby Skelton came on for Cameron and he made some good efforts at closing defenders down, after such an effort from Toby the ball came into the Ravers half and down their left hand side andtheball was played into the box behind Hannah and as Charlie Norton came across to cover he connected shoulder to shoulder with the Scotter attacker he attempted to tackle with the “wrong” leg and the referee had no alternative but to give a penalty. Despite Tristans best attempts Scotter scored from the spot, this seemed to give them hope, 2-4. Scotter peppered the Ravers defence with attack after attack in a hope of getting a third, Jayden Harland threw himself in front of a shot Adam getting tackles in Charlie chipping in when he was required to, Tristan making another save with his foot and the whole team fighting to save their victory and sure enough when the whistle went for full time the relief on the Ravers players was all to apparent. Not a pretty game but all the same a great result. Well done to all the team.

Broughton Ravers u11 1 v Park Tigers u11 1
Scorer: Charlie Norton
Broughton went into this game knowing their opponents had not lost a game all season, it was going to be tough. On a very blustery day Ravers started well and played some neat football short sharp passing and good movement but the final ball just not going their way. The wind was spoiling the game somewhat and Olly Hodson on the left handsideofmidfieldin particular struggled to find his passing range. The Ravers battled on, pressurising the Tigers into making errors but neither side haviingashoton goal the midfield’s of both sides working particularly hard. Withtheir first real attack the Ravers forced a corner with Ben Lingard swinging the ball into the penaltyt area andthe ball being carried withthe wind caused panic in the Tigers defence who again conceded a corner. Ben again swung the ball over and found Charlie Norton at the far post who managed to bundle the ball into the net 1-0 to the Ravers! The Tigerswere finding it hard going against the wind but still managed to force Tristen Lawrence into a good tip over save, the corner being cleared by Adam Rutter. The game was ebb and flow andthe Ravers will be a little disappointed that they resorted in the long ball game as half time approached, a little more composure with the ball would have made their play less hectic. HT 1-0.
The second half began with the Tigers gaining the upper hand and utilising the wind well, Brandon Tebb getting vital touches on the ball on a number of occasions to deny the opponents the opportunity to shoot on goal. The duo of Olly’s, Cross & Hodson were working very hard in midfield, as was Ryan Lidget who once again made the centre of the mdfield his own & showed he has the eye for a defence splitting pass, Matty Ingham & Ben up front were seeing little of the ball, it was hard going but the Ravers dug deep and worked their socks off. The pressure was starting to take its toll on the Ravers and Tristan was called on to make another finger tip save, the resulting corner came across the penalty area where a Tigers player played the ball forward for one of his team mates to prod the ball home. The linesman held his flag up for an infringement, the referee consulted with her linesman who had seen an offside by the player scoring the goal, the goal was disallowed the score still 1-0. The Tigers were now starting to panic, they had the ball into the Ravers area again but Tristan made a brave save at the feet of the forward, who was injured in the tussle. Olly Hodson made way for Cameron Gillett with Olly Cross switching to the left hand side of midfield. It was all hands to the pumps for Broughton in the last 10 minutes Ben coming back into defence to help out T J Travis who had played his usual stylish Franz Beckenbauer eskroleinthe front of the back four. With 4 minutes left Brandon made a timely challenge which resulted in a corner from the right hand side, the Tigers were in a hurry to take the corner, fearing their first defeat of the season. The ball was swung over and a Tigers player managed to get a head to the ball towards goal, it looked like another Tigers player got a touch and the ball hit Tristans left hand upright but the ball cannoned off the post into Ben who was defending that post and into the Ravers net, another disappointing late goal against the Ravers. The final few minutes were frantic with the Tigers sensing they may get the victory the wanted and the Ravers defending and tackling andharassingfor all their worth. The final whistle blew th score 1-1, a fair result. A special mention should be made to the 3 subs who did not get a game, the Ravers are a team, players and subs alike they understood it was a close game and it was difficult for the managers. Well done Toby Skelton, Jack Holmes and Jayden Harland you are a credit to the team.

Bottesford Excelsior u11 3 v Broughton Ravers u11 3 Bottesfordwon 5-4 sudden death penalties.
Scorers: Ben Lingard 3.
What an excellent performance by the team!!! From starting 11 to the subs every player gave their all. The game started with bothteams sounding each other out but withno real chances on goal. Ravers were passing the ball about with Ryan Lidgetplayingtheball through for both Matty Ingham & Olly Hodson to make breaks but despite having shots on goal the score remained 0-0. Broughton broke the deadlock when Matty & Ben Lingardcombined well for Ben to score a well taken goal. Bottesford were really not playing well and Broughton scored again with Ben scoring from outside the box. The Ravers were on top but just before half time they lost their concentration and Excelsior scored a break away goal which the Ravers defence will be a little disappointed with, HT 1_2.
The second half got under way and Broughton carried on from where they left off, working as a team, working really hard for each other and pressurising Bottesford into mistakes. This paid dividends when Olly HodsontackledaExcelsior player in his own half, made ground with the ball and laid it off to Ryan Lidget who in turn passed to Ben who completed his hatrick from 10 yards, 1-3 to the Ravers. From this point the game should have been closed out but with all their hard work Broughton were tiring rapidly, a number of substitutions were made to try inject some energy into the team but Bottesfordscored their second after a lapse at the back, it was going to be even harder now for Broughton. The Ravers dug deep but with practically the last kick of the game Bottesford equalised, as the ball ricoched about in the Ravers box an Excelsior player managed to poke the ball home, such disappointment for the Ravers. 5 mins each way extra time.
During the extra time both teams played as if they did not want to give anything away, very defensive so after the 10 mins it was penalties! Ben Lingard took the first pen for the Ravers, he had just scored a hat trick during the game surely he couldn’t miss….. but he did just that putting the ball over the bar. Penalties from T J Travis and Olly Cross were equalised by Bottesford. Olly Hodson scored his pen but the Excelsior player missed so it was all square. Matty Ingham took the Ravers 5th and slotted it home nicely but again this was equalisied by Bottesford. Now down to sudden death penalties, Bottesford went first and scored, Adam Rutter took the Ravers next pen, his hard shot being well saved by the keeper!!!!!!! Such disappointment for the Ravers but they played extremely well and it is looking good for the future of the club.

Messingham juniors u11 0 v Broughton Ravers u11 4.
Scorers: Matty Ingham 2, Olly Hodson 2.
This game came after last weeks excellent perfomance(although a defeat) the Ravers were hoping to continue with the same good form. For the first 10 mins the game was ebb and flow but generally Broughton having the best of the play. On 11 minutes Ben Lingard played Olly Hodson through on the left hand side, his fierce shot hit the keepers left hand post and went across the line and touched a Messingham player as it did, Matty Ingham followed up and shot on goal but his shot hit the opposite upright and was cleared away, the Ref consulted the linesman who said the ball had crossed the line after touching the Messingham player on the line, 0-1 to the Ravers.
Matty Ingham was put through by an excellent ball from Ryan Lidgetbut as he was one on one with the Juniors keeper he shot tamely into the keepers arms. Olly Hodson increased the Ravers lead when good play from Matty & Ben released him on the left hand side again, he took the ball into the opposition ‘s box cut in and hit a terrific shot across the keeper and into the far corner 0-2. The Ravers had the upper hand and were playing excellent passing football and working hard when they were defending. Ben Lingard picked up a through ball from Olly Cross and was closing in on goal but seemed to panic a little and shot rather than taking his time and lobbing the keeper. As the half time whistle blew the Ravers could be proud of their first half efforts 0-2.
The secondhalf began with the Juniors taking the game to Broughton andfor the first time in the game the Ravers were under pressure, the defence were working really hard, Adam Rutter despite being one of the smaller defenders was heading balls away with great skill, Charlie Norton was using his usual no nonsense style of play, Brandon Tebbcontinuing with his improvement and Hannah Davies putting tackles in and making the left back spot her own. Ravers increased their lead but it has to be said it was against the run of play, Ben crossed for Matty to score a well taken goal. This seemed to knock the stuffing out of Messingham, Broughton made substitutions Cameron Gillett coming on for a tiring Olly Hodson with Olly Cross moving to the left hand side of midfield this almost had an immediate effect when Cameron was tackled just as he was going to shoot on goal. Jack Holmes came on for Hannah andRyan Briggs for Ben who was struggling withaninjury. Two of the subs combined to help Matty get his second goal, Cameron dribbled into the penalty area before laying the ball off to Ryan Briggs who crossed for Matty to shoot home, excellent play! As the game drew to a close the Ravers had 3 more chances to increase their lead but were unable to take those chances so full time 0-4. This was an excellent game between 2 sporting teams and well refereed by Mike Bradley.
MOM: Matty Ingham.
Broughton Ravers u11 2 V Discoveries C M fish 5
Scorers: Ben Lingard & Matty Ingham
After last weeks 2nd half performance the main theme of the managers team talk the Ravers began well. Giving 100% and putting pressure on the Discoveries players not allowing them to play their natural passing game. For the first 10 mins it was all Broughton who had the first shot on goal through Ben Lingard, but were unlucky to go behind when Charlie Norton got his feet muddled and the ball ran through for the Discoveries player to cross the ball and his team mate slotted the ball home 0-1. The Ravers picked themselves up and again played good football but once again Discoveries scored against the run of play, Ravers left players unmarked from a corner and the ball was headed in. Shortly after the Ravers had a great passage of play resulting in T J Travis tip toeing through the Discoveries defence before laying the ball off to Ben Lingard who managed to lob the keeper for 18 yrds. This inspired Broughtonbut a pattern seemed to be forming, despite taking the game to Discoveries the Ravers gave away a free kick for handball on the edge of the area, Tristan Lawrence will be disappointed withhiseffortsto save the shot which went under his body, 1-3. With half time looming Broughton got themselves back into the game, a string of good passing led to Matty Ingham scoring a well taken goal ht 2-3.
It was all Broughton as the second half kicked off, Time and time again good football was not equalled by the finishing and2 goal line clearances prevented them from equalizing. Tristan made up for his early mistake by clearing a through ball from just outside his area with a huge kick. Broughton continued to push for the elusive goal to bring them level, but it would not come, again a goalline clearance came to Discoveries rescue 3 times the ball was cleared off the line it looked like it was not going to be Broughton’s day. With the Ravers pushing forward to get the goal they so richly deserved they got caught on the break the defence could not turn quick enough and Tristan came to the edge of his box but the Discoveries striker slotted the ball home 2-4. As full time beckoned the Ravers gave away a needless corner and as the ball was swung over the marking was poor “once again” andDiscoveries scored with another header. Full time 2-5. An excellent performance by the Ravers who must count themselves very unlucky to lose this game.

Presidents Cup: Broughton Raver u11 4 v Crowle colts JFC u 12 0.
Scorers: Olly Cross, Ryan Lidget, Matty Ingham, Cameron Gillett.
Broughton held their own in own in the first half against a team who are an age group above them. Chances were few and far between but ravers showed signs of things to come. TJ Travis was playing well just in front of the back four, he is turning into a stylish footballer. Half time was 0-0.
The Ravers came to life in the second half scoring 4 unanswered goals.
MOM: TJ Travis.
Dale Park 0 v Broughton Ravers 8
Scorers: Ben Lingard 2, T J Travis 2, Ryan Lidget, Matty Inham, Cam Gillett, Ryan Briggs.
BroughtonwenttoDalePark trying to put last weeks disappointing result behind then and they got off to a flying start when Olly Hodson played Matty Ingham in to shoot in to the bottom corner and score a well taken goal. Ben Lingard showed his intentions when he fired a shot from the edge of the box just over the Dale Park Crossbar. The 10 men of Dale Park were showing guts and determination, they were defending resoloutly and keeping Ravers at bay, it took another 10 mins before Ravers managed an effort on goal a tame shot from Olly Cross. Ryan Lidget was playing in the centre of midfield he was the play maker of the team getting the ball under control and making his passes count. One such pass saw the ball returned to him on the edge of the box for Ryan to side foot & place the ball in the bottom corner giving the Dale Park keeper litlechancefor Ravers second, showing scoring is not all about power.
Ryan L was again involved shortly after when he played a short ball to Olly Hodson on the left hand side who in turn played the ball down the line for Ben Lingardwhodribbled around 2 players got to the bye line and shot wide when 3 of his team mates were waiting in the centre. Olly H was involedagain when a first time ball in to space left Ben with the time to give a good pass to Matty who shot narrowly wide. The Ravers were now thinking they could all score andthis was a detriment to their game, with too many bodies trying for the same ball. T J Travis strode forward and was involved in a move inside the box which involved 4 players before TJ scored from close range. The Ravers defence started to push up trying to get on the score sheet and on one such occasion the entire back four were stood on the half way line, the ball was played over their heads andif truth be told if Dale park had their full compliment they may well have troubled Tristan Lawrence in the Ravers goal.
The Ravers proved they can play good passing football when Ryan L played Ben in with an excellent pass through the defence, Ben looked up and saw T J stood in acres of space, gave the ball to his feet T J took two strides with the ball before unleashing an unstoppable 25 yard right foot shot into the top corner of the net. Sometimes funny things happen in football, Ravers played the ball around their opponents box, Matty shot from the right hand side, Olly C tried to head the ball in but missed, the ball came back off the post and smacked Olly C full in the face and went in the net, after the initial shock Olly thought he had scored only to be flagged off side. On the stroke of half time Ryan L played Matty in to the penalty area Matty in turn Laid the ball back for Ben to shoot wide, H T 0-4.
The secondhalf began much as the first had done with, Matty having a good strong shot on goal, Dale park had to be thankful to their keeper who made an excellent save. The keeper again came to Park’s rescue withan excellent save with his legs from Ben, the ball came out and was played down field and once again Ravers defence was caught square, the Park player played the ball into the Ravers penalty area and whilst Ravers encourage respect & courtesy Hannah, Charlie & Tristan were playing a game of “after you” which resulted in panic in the Ravers area and the ball being played across his own goal by Charlie, sometimes the ball just needs the big boot upfield!! Ben played himself in to a shooting opportunity but was disappointed with his effort, almost immediatly Olly H played the ball to Ben who had another shot go wide of the mark.
Adam Rutter came on for Hannah and Brandon Tebb came on for Jayden Harland, this payed almost immediate dividends when Adam cleared the ball upfield for Ryan L to lay the ball nicely to Ben whose fierce shot was on target but the Park keeper could not hold onto the ball and it rebounded off his chest onto his own player andtrickledintothenet, after much discussion the goal was given to Ben. As the management changed things around to give everybody a game Cameron Gillett came on for Olly H and Ryan Briggs came on for TJ Travis. The former substitution payed dividends once again when Cameron disposessed an opponent dribbled the ball past 2 defenders and scored in the far corner.
Ben Lingard has a shot from distance which went over the bar andfrom the resulting goal kick Ryan Briggs foundhimself on the edge of the box with the e rushing out and he lobbed the ball over the keeper rooneyesque style. Toby Skelton came on for Jack Holmes and ravers continued to push for more goals, Ben had another shot off target, Cameron had a good run thwarted at the last and a short corner from ben to Ryan L came to nothing, final score 0-8.
Man of the match: Ryan Lidget.
Broughton Ravers 1 v Clee Town 5.
Scorers: Matty Ingham.
Ravers were full of hope going into this game after last weeks excellent performance at Bottesford and after 10 mins their hopes were justified when after a number of good passages of play, Ben Lingard played a through ball to Matty Ingham who took the ball on andscored with a cross shot into Clee’sgoal. If the players are honest with themselves everything went downhill from there, poor defending gave Clee a well taken equaliser andeven worse defending gave them the lead shortly after. Ravers then self destructed with a poor clearance from a usually dependable Charlie Norton meant the ball went goalwards and in an attempt to clear it Hannah Davies put the ball in her own net, this gave Clee a 3-1 half time lead.
The secondhalf was a poor scrappy affair with Broughton not creating many chances and resorting to just kicking the ball downfield for the forwards to chase!! Clee scored a fourth when a Clee player dribbled through into the box and behind the defence which forced Hannah into a last ditch attempt at a tackle which resulted in a penalty, which was duly dispatched into the Ravers net. Clee scored a 5th when the ball was lost in midfield andthetown player passed the ball through a static Ravers defence to allow the forward to score past an equally static Tristan Lawrence. The highlight of the secondhalfforRavers was an excellent save from Tristan who palmed the ball away high to his right, this meant the full time score stayed a 1-5. Disappointed Ravers players have a week to improve, they were knocked off the ball too easily, second to every ball almost the entire game and very poor when in possession of the ball giving it away cheaply. A lot of good players had bad games this week, the team must improve.
Man of the Match: Matty Ingham.
Bottesford Excelsior 2 v Ravers 0.
The game began withboth teams playing good football, TJ Travis & Adam Rutterwere getting used to playing in an unfamiliar formation but all the same they were playing well. Bottesford began to dominate after 10 minutes and Tristan Lawrence was called into action to finger tip a shot over the bar. Matty Ingham was working very hard as a lone front man putting the Excelsior defence under all kinds of pressure when they had the ball at their feet. Bottesfordhad a couple more efforts on goal but Ravers were holding their own, on lapse in concentration from a cross left the excelsior forward with a tap in, half time 1-0.
The second half belonged to the Ravers, the hard working midfield of Ben Lingard, Olly Cross & Ryan Lidget was playing well and giving Matty Inhama couple of opportunities of one on one’s with the keeper but the home defence held firm. Ravers rang the changes hoping to get the vital goal which would hopefully have spurred them on but it was not to be. Bottesfordagain got a scrappy goal which they really did not deserve to give them the 2-0 victory. Ravers can be greatly pleased with themselves they gave a really good show of hard work, tough tackling and good football, they richly deserved a share of the points, they will play worse than this and win games this season.
